When life gives you lemons…

When life gives you lemons…

In today’s modern world, few parents have to face the bitter pain of losing a child they love. But Nancy Guthrie has faced such pain twice, burying two of her children who lived only six months. Those who have watched her and her husband,  David, walk through such loss, as well as the millions who have read their story worldwide in TIME magazine and USA Today have wondered at their ability to emerge from deep sorrow with great joy for living.

Nancy’s life experience has forced her to dig deep in search of answers to hard questions about God and how he works. She often finds that her listeners have the same struggles and questions.  And while she openly shares the deep hurts in her life, she also likes to laugh.  She regularly speaks throughout the U.S. and internationally, and those who hear her find she is transparent and authentic.

Nancy is the author of six books including Holding On to Hope: A Pathway of Suffering to the Heart of God, which has been published in nine languages around the world. She makes her home in Nashville, TN where, according to Nancy, life is less about professional pursuits than about the ordinary aspects of being a wife, mother, friend, and follower of Jesus, with clothes to wash, e-mails to answer and a friend to listen to. You won’t want to miss hearing what Nancy has to say and the story she has to tell.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 26 at 6:30PM for dinner, fellowship and Nancy’s encouragement through her story of personal suffering. Cost $10 per person. Register on Sundays in the Women’s Ministry table in the Tower or the office during the week. Reservation deadline: Aug.23rd
