Sr. High Summer

Sr. High Summer

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”—Ephesians 2:6

At High-Life we like to see heavenly realities meet earth. We see this in kingdom environments throughout the year. Kingdom environments are geared to show the excellence of Christ through the ministries of the word and presence. This means establishing relationships with Jesus Christ not only through the power of scripture, but by experiencing and expressing grace through the opportunity of service. High-Life kingdom environments this summer will involve the In-Town mission trip, Jr. and Sr. Crew Training, and the first-ever Freshman/Sophomore Retreat.

All current Sr. High students are invited to join us July 9-13 for the In-Town mission trip. Students and leaders will spend 5 days staying at The Village Church partnering with ministries around the city including Boys and Girls Club, Manna House, and Lincoln Village Preservation Corporation. This is an opportunity for students to be the hands and feet of Christ in our very own community.

Every year juniors are challenged to serve 7th and 8th graders at Jr. High-Life by being part of Jr. Crew. This year training is July 26-31. Students will spend the weekend learning the ins and outs of Jr. High ministry and ways to cultivate a love for Christ that transfers to Jr. High Students.

Sr. Crew training is August 1-5. Seniors will spend the first two days being equipped to lead and serve Sr. High-Life then put their training into practice by helping lead the Freshman/Sophomore retreat.

High-Life desires to connect freshmen and sophomores with other students and leaders in the ministry before the first High-Life September 9th. In an effort to do this High-Life is introducing a Freshman/Sophomore retreat. The retreat will be August 3-5 on the Ocoee River in Tennessee. The retreat will include: whitewater rafting, worship, teaching, and adventure. We strongly encourage every rising 9th and 10th grader to be a part of the weekend.

Summer is a great time for students to connect with High-Life and experience some of our kingdom environments. To register for Sr. High-Life events go to southwood.org/highlife.
