Session Update

If you have been on Southwood’s campus recently, you have probably noticed the signs for the auction of the White House property. The trustees have decided to pursue this route for the sale of the home following the congregational decision to sell the house, and the auction is scheduled for Thursday, April 12, at 6:00pm. There is a reserve price set (minimum price in order for the house to sell), so it is not certain that the house will sell on that date. We will notify the congregation of the outcome of the auction as soon as it is finalized. Please pray with us for God’s blessing upon that process and for our hearts to trust him as we seek to steward all the resources he has given to Southwood for the sake of his kingdom.

We encourage you to take advantage of some particular opportunities in April to engage friends and neighbors with your church family and the gospel. Of course, we look forward to having many guests with us for Easter Week activities and services. Also consider bringing someone with you to the Parent CAFE (April 17) since we all deal with technology and many of us with how it impacts our kids and families. April 21 Scotty Smith will be leading our men’s conference and encourages non-churchgoers to attend for an engaging day with other men and considering the good news of Jesus. Pray for the Spirit to be at work in us and through us during these exciting events. Events themselves don’t change hearts, but the God on whom we always depend loves to meet us and do exactly that. So pray with us!
