Session Update

As we near the conclusion of our first Jobs for Life class, the Session hopes you will join us in celebrating these students and God’s work through this class. The graduation itself will be Tuesday, November 10, and this is a great opportunity to honor the work the students have put in with the class this fall. Please also continue to pray for the relationships we are building with the students and our community partners as well as for the students as some continue to seek employment. What a great opportunity to celebrate the work of God in the lives of individuals and the exponential benefits this has in our lives as we enjoy relationship with them and in the lives of the next generation as they watch and learn from their parents!

The Session is grateful to God for his continued financial provision for Southwood through this year. Even in a season without a senior pastor, He has continued to meet our needs in remarkable ways that should not shock us but should make us marvel at his kind provision. Thank you for your generosity, which God uses to the end of building his kingdom and which leads us to give him great thanks. God has provided what we have needed week by week and month by month in such a way that we remain consistently dependent on him and his ongoing care. This is true in particular as we approach the end of 2015; please continue to pray for God’s gracious provision and to partner with us in the work of the church through giving generously as God has given to us.
As you pray for God’s financial provision for Southwood, continue to pray with his for his spiritual guidance and direction of our church and the ministry God has given us here in Huntsville and around the world. Remember that we don’t merely pray for the work of the kingdom but that prayer, rather, is itself the work of the kingdom. Pray for our Search Committee; pray for our local ministry partners; pray for our foreign missionaries; pray for our hearts; and pray for people God would allow us to share the good news of Jesus with both individually and corporately.
