Pain Before the Child is a line taken from the U2 song Yahweh, an idea that on this earth there is no finish line. We are on a journey and we are always in the process of "becoming." We have already been saved, yet we have not finished the race. It’s an idea that all of us can relate to, and it is a theme that runs throughout the songs on this disc. Over the past several years, Southwood has experienced a sweet time of growth and many resultant changes. It is our hope and intent that these songs will provide a sense of constancy for the journey.
Pain Before the Child was recorded and produced over a two month period beginning in December of 2008. Many people offered their time and talents to make this happen and all of us sincerely hope that you will enjoy the fruit of our labor. It is our pleasure to offer this to you as a means of encouragement and spiritual nourishment on your journey. And it is our joy to journey and labor with all of you, from conversion to glory, until what we see dimly now, becomes crystal clear!
